Ars Technica takes a first look at the Core i7 NUC

The guys at Ars Technica have posted a mini review of the new Intel Core i7 NUC. It obviously does offer better performance than the i5 NUC, but they question the value of the device. Performance is anyway hampered by the rather unimpressive GPU and for the price you should be able build significantly more power. In other words, they don’t see that much market for a performance-oriented mini PC.

The article also has interesting power consumption figures for both the Broadwell i5 and i7 models, check it out!

The retail price is expected to be approximately $100 more than the price of the i5 model – around $500.
