Intel fixes the Broadwell NUC BIOS bug affecting the IR receiver

Intel has released BIOS version 0247 for the Broadwell NUCs (NUC5i3RYK/H, NUC5i5RYK/H, NUC5i7RYH) that remedies the issue with the infra red receiver under Linux.

According to the release notes the following fixes are included:

  • Added BIOS options on the Secondary Power Settings page to enable or disable Wake from S3 via CIR and Wake from S4 and S5 via CIR.
  • Added BIOS option on the Legacy Device Config page to select the CIR Remote Controller Type.
  • Fixed issue where CIR remote fails in OpenELEC.
  • Fixed issue where SMBIOS System Manufacturer and System Model do not appear correctly in MSINFO32 and other applications.

Download the BIOS via Intel download center, put it on an USB stick, reboot and press F7 to start the upgrade!
