Even if the Comet Lake NUC was just released FanlessTech has once again published the leaked specifications of the upcoming Tiger Lake NUC. The Tiger Lake NUC will be the successor of the Comet Lake NUC and will feature 28W i3, i5 and i7 CPUs.

I realize I’m probably in the minority here, and that this is more down to Intel’s chip schedules and languishing Atom development in general, but I’d much rather have a successor to the cheap NUCs than yet another $300-$700 NUC that is marginally faster than the one before it

I agree, it would be great to see the successor of the Gemini Lake NUC. The availability of the Pentium model has been poor for a long time. Gemini Lake Refresh doesn’t offer much more than the Gemini Lake did though… Unfortunately I haven’t heard about anything when it comes to lower end NUC releases this year.

    Hello,

If you look carefully at your pics, there’s a lightning bolt next to the USB C – does this indicate USB -C PD, so no more requirement of a power adapter?

    • Olli says:

I thought so initially, but I think that’s the Thunderbolt logo to signify that the port will provide Thunderbolt as well.

      • NucFan says:

Well, that’s me disapointed, we can hope they’ll adopt tech from 3 years ago eventually.

(Intel do know people want this right?)

  3. Ref nuc says:

So this is nuc 10 and the one that just came out is nuc 9?

I brought my nuc8i3 last year take max 32gb ram

Iv seen there is a nuc with two hdmi ports also, and where are we on the gpu upgrades ?

    Thank you

    • TheBrinkOfTomorrow says:

No, this likely to be NUC11, as Tiger Lake are likely to be branded 11th generation Core chip.

NUC10 is already out; it’s the “Frost Canyon” NUC family, featuring 10th generation Comet Lake chips.

  4. Tom says:

When there are front and rear Thunderbolt 3 ports, why does only the rear port has the Thunderbolt logo ?

    • nucblognet says:

These are very preliminary renderings. It might be that the logo is just missing from the front or that the front port is only an USB 3 Type-C port. Too early to say.

Intel Nuc can’t be far behind:
“ASRock announces Tiger Lake based NUC”
No pricing or availability information was provided for ASRock’s Tiger Lake based products
