Phantom Canyon NUC with GTX 1660 Ti Spotted

You might remember that earlier this year FanlessTech reported that the successor to the Hades Canyon NUC is going to be called Phantom Canyon NUC. The original Hades Canyon NUC had an AMD GPU and obviously this is not something that’s going to happen for Phantom Canyon. According to the leaked material it is coming in two different versions, one with a 6 GB discrete GPU and i5 CPU and another one with 8 GB of VRAM and i7 CPU.

Hardware Leaks is reporting today of a 3DMark result that’s coming supposedly from a Phantom Canyon NUC. The benchmark has been executed using a quad-core 2.3 GHz (boost up to 4.4 GHz) Tiger Lake-U engineering sample CPU and an Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti GPU. The author, rogame, in the Hardware Leaks article is suggesting that this is the i5 model and goes on to speculate that the i7 model could be equipped with a Nvidia RTX 2070 Super Max-Q GPU.

The Time Spy result of 5335 for the Phantom Canyon is actually pretty good and gives an indication on how it will perform. For comparison the Hades Canyon NUC got 3057 points in the same benchmark.

Originally the Phantom Canyon was supposed to be released in H2 of this year, but I’d be highly surprised to see anything but engineering samples before the end of the year.
