Great nuc tool but when adding a second hd drive 2.5 inch and using UK amazon it didn’t find a second hd. Great work thanks.

      Hi Jonny,

Thanks for the feedback! This happens sometimes, when a product is discontinued on Amazon or when the product number changes. I’ve updated the product numbers now for the 2TB hard disk drive and the 1TB SSHD drive.

You need to add the 2×16 option when someone selects a Skylake model

Thanks for your feedback! Do you know any 16 GB modules that work with Skylake NUC? I’ve only tried the Kingston HyperX module so far, but that doesn’t come in a 16GB variety…

I used 2 pieces HyperX 2400MHz 8Gb: HX424S14IBK2/16. The NUC does not start up. The Screen does not Switch on. The LED on the NUC is blinking 3 blinks (3 beeps) On-off (1.0 second each) three times, then 2.5-second pause (off). The pattern repeats until the computer is powered off -> Memory error .
Now i found an Information that i should use 1900MHz RAM Modules.
Do you think the Problem is related to the takt frequency or is something defect?

Hi, thx a lot for the configuration tool. I built my Skylake with no issues at all; it posted the first time I plugged it into power. Getting the USB 3 drivers for Win 7 working was the toughest part; despite all the articles out there. The easiest and best util I found was from Intel’s site – it injects the drivers onto the USB drive after I prepared it with Rufus. Also, creating an automation script saved me all of the headaches I encountered with my keyboard ceasing to function during installation. This was after 4 tries with different image prep apps. Fun to be able to watch all of the Youtube 4k and above res vids. Thx!

Hi Really benefited from the commentary. I have a 6i5SYH which I loaded with a 16G Kingson Sofimm DR4. If I add another identical 16G memory will the system access it? Will I see any real benefit? It’s mostly office and browsing work-no gaming or music recording/editing at the moment

    many thanks

My purpose is to use softwares like Solidworks, Catia, Autocad, Ansys, openFOAM, Blender. Will NUC5i6RYH serve my purpose?

Hi, Nice tool. You should know though, I was making selection for the i7 Skull Canyon and selected 2x16Gb modules and it then recommended Kingston Technology HyperX Impact 32GB Kit (2x16GB) 2400MHz DDR4 CL14 260-Pin SODIMM Laptop HX424S14IBK2/32.

Beware – The HX424S14IBK2/32 is listed on the Intel site as incompatible with the NUC6i7KYK and that “System may not boot, or may be instable.” [unstable]

    Hello everyone,

Am new to this site, and PC building, so go easy on me.

    Preamble:-
My current PC is a 2010-era Dell Latitude E6410 laptop, and I’m looking to replace it with a NUC or a Brix.
During the time I’ve owned the laptop, I’ve upgraded it with 2 x 4GB sticks of Crucial DDR3 1600 1.35v RAM and a Kingston 2.5″ SSD.
Having bought those parts, which still function perfectly well and aren’t particularly old (to me), I would prefer to use them in a new system, if I can.

    So my question:-
Is there a NUC (or Brix) that I could put those parts (the SSD and the RAM sticks above) in to?

I.e. rather than looking for parts for a NUC, I’m looking for a NUC for my parts…..

Thanks to whoever can point me in the right direction.

P.S. I think the only NUCs that would work with that RAM are NUC5i3RYH and NUC5i3MYHE (though I can’t tell the difference between them) and NUC6CAYH

    • Dennis Joslin says:

That RAM is not going to work in a modern NUC, the 8th generation NUCs are light-years better and faster than the 5th and 6th….
